Gabby’s Music Playlists from The Problem with Cupid

You may have noticed in The Problem with Cupid, Gabby loves her music playlists.

So, channeling my Gabby music vibes, I created a few playlists for you.

The first playlist is from chapter 3, a friendship playlist.

Friendship song playlist from The Problem with Cupid by Jean Oram.

Lamonte checked his watch, his expression serious, as if he was doing some mental math. “We should get going. You ready?”
“I don’t know,” I said coyly. “Ready for the first playlist?”
“As long as you didn’t get it from Carson, I’m sure we’ll be fine.”
“Carson? Why? Do you guys have a road trip playlist?” I tapped the tips of my fingers together, delighted by the thought of them bonding over songs. Like a soundtrack to their friendship. It was such a warm and fuzzy idea, and so unlike Lamonte, it made me giggle.
“We don’t have a playlist. And don’t sound so gleeful about it. We’re not creating one.”
“You could start with A Friend Like You by Andy Grammer. Then maybe something by The Beatles.”
“With a Little Help from My Friends?” Lamonte asked dryly.
I gasped with dramatic delight when he guessed the song I had in mind. “You do have a playlist!”
“We don’t.”

So, Lamonte doesn’t have a friendship playlist…but he does now!

You can enjoy the friendship song playlist on Spotify, or go listen to these songs of friendship on YouTube. (I’ll also share the full song list at the bottom of this page in case you don’t use either platform and want to see the songs that made this curated song list.)

The second playlist has music that spans Canada’s three coasts: The Canadian Road Trip Playlist (Canadian bands)

I hope you enjoy these Canadian songs. (There’s one at the end for the 70s Canadian kids. I hope it makes you laugh.)

Here’s a little snippet from Chapter 2 where Lamonte defends Gabby’s playlists to Carson who wants Lamonte to listen to romantic songs on the upcoming road trip as well as make a move on Gabby. It’s from Chapter 2:

“Make a romantic playlist. Actually, let me share the one Lori loves.” He pulled out his phone.
“I’m not making a move. We’re friends. And Gabby makes great playlists.” Even though she constantly teased me about adding Nickelback songs to them.

You can enjoy Gabby’s Great Canadian Road Trip Song playlist on Spotify, or you can listen to this 45-song playlist of Canadian bands on YouTube. (Find out if she really does add Nickelback songs to her playlist. 😉
